Founder and Chairman of Radiant Group of Companies, Col David Devasahayam (Retd.) had a vision to ameliorate the condition of destitutes and provide financial assistance to poor children for higher education, in villages around Chennai. With this vision to serve the socially challenged groups, the Radiant Foundation was officially formed in 2011 with the implementation of. two major projects namely ‘Ashraya’ and ‘Shiksha’. Since then the Radiant Foundation has been actively involved in bringing a change in the society, one step at a time, through its various initiatives.

Col. David Devasahayam commissioned into the Infantry, Gorkha Rifles. Also a paratrooper and an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College. In a brilliant career spanning 25 years, he commanded two infantry battalions and an Army Training Centre.

On voluntary retirement, he set up the enormously successful Radiant Group of Companies. It has five verticals in the fields of Cash Management, Guarding Services, Medical Services, Business Solutions and Information Technology Solutions. The Radiant Group has regional offices across the country in all state Capitals and employs thousands of personnel. It also has offices in the USA.

He is the recipient of the National Entrepreneur of the year in the field of Security Services, the Socially Conscious Entrepreneur of the Year and the Udhyog Ratna by the Government of India.

Dr. Renuka David

TrusteeAn alumnus of Coimbatore Medical College, Dr Renuka David has had a long, illustrious career as a medical doctor spanning over two decades. She is a medical expert on wellness, preventive healthcare, weight and age management, and has received multiple awards for her contribution to the cause of wellness and preventive healthcare.

Dr. Renuka David is the Managing Director of Wellness and Home Healthcare vertical of the Radiant Group of companies. She was awarded “The Jaguar Woman Achiever Award” in the field of wellness. She has hosted a talk show called ‘Woman talk’ on Chennai live 104.8 FM. She is currently hosting episodes on Inner Wellness called “Wellness Talks” on YouTube addressing, very important and pertinent ‘need of the hour’ social issues relating to physical, mental and social health.

She also founded and spearheaded the first of its kind Wellness Conclave in Chennai conducted over two days in 2015. Eminent speakers including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhthar, Milkha Singh and Nandita Das addressed the audience comprising young India and HNIs. She has been a motivational speaker at many colleges, corporates and organizations promoting the concept of wellness and preventive healthcare.

Ashraya

ProjectThe Ashraya Project is one of the flagship initiatives of the Radiant Foundation, focusing its work in many districts across Tamil Nadu. It strives to provide free healthy noon-meal every day to elderly destitue men and women.

Shiksha

ProjectShiksha Project was initiated to provide interest-free education loan to deserving students of Ashraya Project villages. This project was implemented in 2009 under the banner ‘Shiksha Project’.

Radiant Sambandh

ProjectThe Radiant Sambandh, a division of the Radiant Foundation, is a Service created and dedicated to be in touch with and provide the necessary support to the Next of Kin ( NOK ) of physical casualties of the Armed Forces.

This year’s Wellness Conclave is designed to address proactive as well as preventive measures to empower the youth of India, the target audience being students and young professionals. This looming threat of serious lifestyle diseases has the potential to snowball into an epidemic of global proportions and could become major challenges impacting the entire national demography. The significance of this threat can be appreciated by considering the potentially serious outcomes like decreased self-esteem and depression, at times culminating in suicidal tendencies.

The objective of this Not for Profit Conclave was to address various lifestyle issues like physical, mental and social health in an individual’s everyday life. The conclave promised to give an individual solution to various issues by bringing them face to face with people who have dealt with similar challenges and have overcome, by dealing with them with fortitude and courage and has achieved in doing so.
As a terminal objective, the Conclave intended to leave an individual, who is physically present or can connect through our digital initiatives, feeling rejuvenated, motivated, energized and positive.
